Disabling IE 8 Beta

The following was recommended by Gizmo for disabling Internet Explorer.   I applied it to IE 8 Beta 2 and it worked.   But it also disabled my internet connection and none of other browsers could connect to the internet, nor could Outlook Express 6.   Comments will be appreciated please.   Bob Bowen

Step 1. From IE select Tools/Internet Options/Connections/LAN Settings.

Step 2. Put a tick in the check box next to "Use a Proxy Server for your LAN ...”

Step 3. Type in "0.0.0.0" in the address box and "80" in the Port box. Don't type in the quote marks of course, just what's inside them.

Step 4. Click OK.
