Firefox 3

Is Firefox 3 ready for everyone yet or does it have too many problems now?

I was running a beta an earlier beta version of ff3 and also ff2
but this time I downloaded ff3 and it has taken over ff2 which I didnt want , so how can I have both once again ?

You can download a portable version, put it to run on sandboxie or any other aplication virtualization software...

I believe if you have ff2 and want a separate installation of ff3, you would have to select "Custom" instead of "Standard" for the installation type. Then you can manually specify which directory to install it and not overwrite ff2.

FireFox 3 works fine for me: no hassle installation, nothing lost.

I am afraid the addons are a dismal failure! But, there is something better and this is better for MSN groups. I have had to use the IE tab to put a new discussion and download pics as the reply without IE tab was a basic box. Now on the reply box there is an IE tab (the IE tab addon must be downloaded) I click on and I get the full features. Much better. It was a pain to keep doing it the other way and then wait and relog in etc. There at least has been one improvement to a point in that. It does have a glitch and that it hangs on, but I am sure that will be remedied.

The other moan the link at the beginning of the tab rows to ad more tabs has gone. Suppose rgt click add. But, just another moan

PS, Don't bother for a couple of months! Not sure whether to go Opera or old FireFox.

Use the Nightly Tester Tools to override those compatibility problems, it works for me. Only Linkification, Paste n Go and Keyconfig were not working, so... I think the Bookmark Library is excellent, to bad they didn't include the filter feature they were testing in Beta/RC - I really miss it, have + 1500 bookmarks.

I'm testing out Firefox 3-rc1 right now. As of today, I have only one plug-in that will not run and fortunately it is not a vital one. Adblock Plus and NoScript seem to work fine as well as others. Tab Mix Plus works, but I had to go to the developer's web site to get the latest version for it to work.

So far I'm very impressed with the improvements over version 2. When version 3 is moved to finalized status, I will be updating my review for Firefox.

This comment is written from Firefox 3. However, most of the add-ons I used earlier don't work with this version of firefox. I would suggest that we wait for some time before the add-ons become compatible with ff3. The improvements over version 2 are noticeable though.

I tested out Firefox 3 and it is pretty good, but quite there yet, which is why it is still in beta at the moment.

Just thought I would post this link about FF3 and 2 as there appears to be a vulnerability that they had not been aware of

As an addon its a good site for information.
